Two Podcasting Equipment Solutions
With the huge growth in the number of podcasts, this year will no doubt see several podcasting tools released to the general public. Unfortunately, most of the currently available tools consist of a tool here and a tool there, each with different roles. No complete packages exist, to my knowledge. Until now.
M-Audio has two solutions. One, is Podcast Factory. It is a complete package that includes:
- A microphone and stand.
- An audio interface unit (external) sound card.
- Audacity open source audio recording and editing software.
- Ableton’s Live 4 Lite audio production software
- Podifier software, to create the RSS XML podcast web feed.
- Necessary cabling.
If you prefer something more portable, M-Audio also has the MicroTrack 24/96, as mobile digital recorder. While the MicroTrack comes with Audacity, it is not as complete a podcasting package as Podcast Factory.
For more information, see my longer Podcasting Made Easy? article at RSS Case Studies Journal. Or visit the M-Audio podcasting page directly.

As a solid example, I wrote a primary article about M-Audio’s Podcast Factory for my weblog about RSS and content syndication. Then I wrote a related summary article at my hubsite, Chameleon Integration, and another summary article at my new music/ composing journal (just a temporary location, for all you blogspot-haters).
