YouMail: Custom Voicemail Messages For Mobile Phones

There are lot of cool applications being introduced for mobile phones. Of late, the one I liked most is YouMail.

YouMail, a web application owned by Zeacom group, offers customizable voicemail for mobile phones.

The application lets you record different greetings for each of your friends and family members. They get a custom voicemail message. You can manage your messages via your phone or online, create / delete them, forward them to others via email as well. And there’s a cool feature called “ditch”, which lets you to avoid some annoying callers by “ditching” them. Nice for get ridding of that kooky acquaintance you mistakenly gave your number to, sales people or just anyone you never want to speak to. Ditch pretends to go to voicemail but kicks you out of the system.

YouMail is currently being offered free for all users, but there may be fees for some services in the future. This service is currently only available to subscribers of Verizon, Cingular and T-mobile cellular plans. Presumably, they will add other cellular providers in the future.

Can I use this with my Sprint PCS cell phone?

Jay, according to YouMail’s learn more page, your carrier needs to have “unanswered call forwarding”. If you have that, you should be able to use YouMail.
