RIM Sues Samsung For Infringement On BlackJack Smart Phone
Samsung’s new BlackJack smart phone is the subject of an infringement lawsuit levied by Research In Motion (RIM). RIM claims that “BlackJack” dilutes their trademark on “BlackBerry”. Sorry, RIM. I may live 30 miles from your Canadian HQ and have much respect otherwise, but this is as stupid as Apple’s claim on the small “i” in front product names. When will this crap of co-opting the English language for trademarks stop? I expected much better from you, RIM. Stop your bullcrap and look at it from another angle. Only an idiot or an uninformed person could possibly confuse the two brands, so it’s not like you’ve lost a valued customer. On the other hand, it could bring more attention to the BlackBerry.
