Shuzak: Social Networking For Geeks
Hard core geeks should check out the relatively new Shuzak, a “social network for geeks,” founded by Jawad Shuaib of Toronto, Canada. Geeks can share science and tech post links they’ve found interesting, just like at social sites such as Digg. The primary difference is that the content is super ultra geeky, but not just for math and science. Artsy, green, and home theater geeks - to name a few - are also welcome.
This IS the type of site I would visit, but there’s one reason I haven’t (beyond being busy). It’s the login screen right front and center on the home page. I don’t know if Jawad was trying not to copy other vote-based sites that promote articles, but I like to see the hot topics right up front - not have to dig for them. Still, I haven’t done Shuzak justice in this short review, and there are other features in development. Go check it out; it just might appeal to you.
