Free Linux Phones?

Jealous of those who managed to get an Apple iPhone and all it’s funky applications? Got coding skills? Create your own version of those apps. Just send a proposal to Trolltech for their Qtopia mobile phone framework. They’re giving an unspecified number of their Linux-based Greenphones and their SDK (Software Development Kit) to developers whose proposals they accept.

You can then develop your ideas, maybe even make a name for yourself. Just send in your proposals before August 7th. [via Linux Devices]

The Greenphone is GSM/GPRS-based, so if you don’t have access to such a service in your area, you’ll have a hard time proving your app works.
