Microsoft Expanding IPTV with Livestation

Microsoft is releasing a new product that some are predicting will kill Joost and other time-shifted IPTV startups.  Although it could become a threat in the future, at present, Livestation is just for live television.  It is also only in the testing stages

Microsoft is stepping out of its normal operating procedure and will release Livestation BEFORE the competition is firmly entrenched in the market.  This is a peer-to-peer live television broadcast application that was developed in partnership with the London based company, Skinkers.

Livestation is just available for PC’s, but there should be a Mac version available soon.  Eventually it will be designed to work on mobile devices as well.
