With NFC Technology, the Phone Can Do it All

Can technology go to far? There are so many advances in the use of NFC (Near Field Communications) forecasted for the next few years. Before long, you will be able to hold your cell phone up to a concert poster and buy tickets right there.

NFC technology is more secure than the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) that is used for some wireless payments (like tolls) today. A cell phone that is NFC-enabled would demand a password or pin number be entered in order for the transaction to go through.

Having the convenience of one device doing all the work might be good for some people. I’m a bit too paranoid to put all of my eggs in one basket. While the NFC technology will be helpful, I need to see less cyber crime before I’m completely comforted.
