Facebook Making a Mark in Web 2.0
Facebook seems to be the next contender for the social networking trend. Many experts are looking at this company as the one that will unseat MySpace.
The last year has shown an impressive growth for the new company. Although the number of pages viewed dropped after the Facebook opened up to more apps, the number of new visitors continues to rise.
Facebook is making a place for itself, and the larger internet companies are taking notice. Yahoo and Google have both made strong offers to acquire the company. So far, the upstart is more interested in going it alone.
Facebook is not the only force making the move into social networking, but it is the one that is catching the eye of many techies.
Web 2.0 is the driving force behind these new applications. It will be interesting to see who eventually comes out on top of the heap.
